How to Add a Search
On Swoopa you can search for multiple items at the same time with different independent searches.
Add a Search
First, ensure that you have a active subscription. Then click on the search tab.
Select a Speed
If your subscription is active you should see some of the buttons have turned green. Select a speed for your search by clicking on a green button. I.e. 3 mins.
Input Your Search Term and Location
A pop up will appear, add a search term. This should be the item you are looking for. We advise that you use the same term you would if you were searching directly on marketplace. For Example: “Lawn mower.”
Add a location for your search. To do this begin typing the suburb or town or an address near you, then select an option from the pop down. You don’t need to be super accurate, your suburb is adequate.
Add Price Filters and Radius
These filters are optional. To turn these filters on tap the button, it should turn blue when the filter is activated. Then use the slider to adjust your radius. In the price filter boxes add your minimum and maximum prices. The minimum can be zero. Do not add symbols, just add numbers. Swoopa will convert these numbers into the currency of your country.
Add Includers and Excluders (Optional)
DO NOT USE THESE FILTERS ON YOUR FIRST SEARCH! If you input the wrong includers or excluders you can end up with no results so its imperative that you get this setting correct. Best practice is to create a search and then come back and edit your search. You want to refine your results AFTER you have seen some of the results from your search, so that you now what words you should input. Always check that your filters are not blocking words you want to see by making sure your main key words still show up and by checking on Marketplace that Swoopa didn’t miss anything. If a listing didn’t show up its almost certainly because a filter excluded it so you may need to consider modifying your filters. If a listing has been excluded inadvertently modifying your filters will allow future listings with the term to be shown, but the original lisiting will still be excluded from your feed.
Get Notified
You will get a lot of listings coming through immediately after you create your search as Swoopa picks up the existing items on Marketplace. Then when Swoopa has found everything you will get notified soon after a new item is posted.
