Includers Explained

Add Includers to Your Search:

•  When you create a search on Swoopa, you can add includers. Includers are specific words that you’re looking for in the titles of items on Facebook Marketplace. At least one of your includers must be present for you to get a notification. 

Filtering Out Irrelevant Listings:

• Includers filter out items you’re not interested in. By specifying includer words that are unique to your preferences, Swoopa ignores listings that don’t contain any of those words in their titles.
• This means you won’t be bothered by notifications for items that are unrelated to your search, making the process more efficient and ensuring you only receive alerts for the items that truly match your interests.

How They Work:

• Let’s say you have created a search for “bicycle.” You could choose to set up the following includers, “bike,bicycle,bmx.”
• Swoopa will only notify you of listings that specifically contain at least one includer word. For example a listing titled “Mountain Bike” will be included, but a listing titled “Scott speedster s60” would not be included.
• If items you want to see are not going to be included with your chosen key words, you may need to reconsider your strategy. You could either add more includers, multi-includers or use excluder key words to filter out unwanted results whilst making sure you see the listings that are relevant.

Multi-includers:

• Multi-includers are two word includers. If both words are present in any order in the listing title you will be notified. 
• For example in the “bicycle” search you might input the multi-includers, “Road bike,Mountain bike,push bike.” Note that if you did not also have the single word includers “bike,bycicle” you would miss out on lisitings with simple titles like “Bike,” so you need think through the implications of your chosen filters and make sure you cover off on all possibilities.
• Pro tip: Single word includers don’t work that well when the word is commonly used in other unrelated products. In this instance multi-includers are an excellent way to narrow your search as you can use the common word alongside another key word that you want to see.
• For example in a search for “wood heater” the includer “wood” isn’t very effective as you would still get listings like “fire wood” showing up. By using the multi-includer “wood heater” you can filter based on the presence of two words and greatly increase your accuracy. As the title “fire wood” doesn’t contain the word heater, the use of the includer “wood heater” will prevent it from being included in your notifications.

Best Practice:

• Start your search without any includers or excluders. Then have a look at your results, if there are irrelevant listings then work out what includer words you could use. Swoopa will use these words to identify the listings you want to see and hide those you don’t want to see.
• Use Swoopa’s filters with caution as you don’t want to miss listings. People use a range of different titles when they sell things on marketplace so it takes some creativity, forward thinking and analysis to work out the best ways to filter your results. 
• Once you’ve set up your includers and excluders you can enjoy an extremely targeted feed, saving you time and effort whilst ensuring you see every relevant listing.
