Understanding the Facebook 7-Minute Delay
In late 2025 Facebook, began delaying new Marketplace listings, by about seven minutes.
Here's an example of a car search and nothing shown as newer than seven minutes.
That means if a listing says 7 Minutes old, you're seeing it. As soon as it was actually visible on Marketplace, you can't see it earlier manually and you're unlikely to be beaten.
Seven minutes is effectively the new instant on Facebook. Facebook constantly changes its algorithm. So this may be resolved in the future for now it isn't slowing you down. The only real difference is psychological. We all just like seeing posted a few seconds ago.
Renewed Posts: If someone has renewed an existing post, it will appear instantly. This is a minority—less than 5% of ads are renewed posts.
Buy & Sell Groups: If an ad is posted in a Buy & Sell group, it may be discoverable earlier than 7 minutes.
Public Marketplace Listings: Actual public Marketplace listings are not searchable until the full 7-minute delay has passed.
